Electricity tariffs for the company – what is available on the market?
The available electricity tariffs for the company divide enterprises according to their size and production capabilities, and thus the daily demand for electricity. Group C tariffs are intended for small and medium-sized enterprises. C11, C12 (a, b), C21, C22 or C23. Their common denominator is the power of the supply network, which does not exceed 40 kW. The remaining digits in the tariff code indicate the time zones based on which the settlement is carried out.
For example, the C11 tariff is a single-zone option, where the price for electricity for the company is fixed and independent of the time of day and night. Currently, it is the most popular pricing plan in Poland. This is the best tariff for a company where the demand for electricity varies throughout the day, and therefore a two-zone plan would become less profitable.
Tariffs C12a and C12b divide the day into two price zones – more expensive and cheaper. Companies that are able to consume a significant part of their energy while the lower fees are in force, after choosing this tariff, can count on significant savings. Tariffs C21, C22 and C23 are intended for enterprises that consume more than 40 kW. For companies with the highest demand for energy, tariffs from B and A groups have been prepared (eg B11, B21, B23, A21, A22). The second digits of the code, as in the previous examples, refer to the division of the day into time zones.

Reading the information from the electricity meter at different times of the day and night, and then calculating the proportion of energy used throughout the day cycle will answer the question whether it is profitable to change the electricity tariff in the company. Perhaps shifting part of production to night hours, which are subject to more favorable rates, will significantly reduce electricity costs so that the entire investment will turn out to be profitable. However, the tariff itself is not enough. Although changing the tariff is becoming an increasingly popular way to optimize costs, it is worth delving a bit further and analyzing the current seller. Due to the competition on the electricity supply market, it is often the supplier switch that will generate huge savings for the company.
A positive answer to the question: is it profitable to change the electricity tariff in the company? If the cooperation with the current supplier is continued, an annex to the contract specifying the new tariff must be signed. However, it may turn out that the possibility of negotiating price with the current seller has stalled, and the rigid conditions he offers differ from the competitive prices of other sellers on the market. Considering switching the electricity supplier will then be a sensible move, allowing you to reduce operating costs.

First of all, at the very beginning, an analysis of the energy demand in the company should be carried out. The numbers given “dry” alone will not be sufficient here. Consider at what times the highest wear occurs, whether it can be modified and postponed so that it does not adversely affect the production process. The next step is to find a suitable seller and terminate the contract with the current one. It is possible to ensure commercial continuity – it is enough to conclude a new contract on the date coinciding with the expiry of the previous obligation. Remember the notice period, which is often included in the terms of the contract. The entire change process should not take more than 30 days. The upgrade is usually free, although some sellers introduce one-time activation fees that you need to be aware of before entering into a contract.
Changing the electricity supplier for the company and choosing the appropriate tariff are very effective tools on the way to reduce operating costs, put into the hands of entrepreneurs thanks to the liberalization of regulations and the separation of the process of supply and sale of electricity. It is worth taking advantage of these opportunities and analyzing the costs of electricity consumption in the company, because the change may become an opportunity to secure spectacular savings.
